Why Board?
Boarding is a viable option for anyone wanting to purchase alpaca(s) but who doesn't have the land or facilities for raising alpacas. Maybe you want to start growing a herd, but know you wont have your own ranch or farm for a few years. This is a very common scenario for alpaca breeders getting started. Wendy purchased one weanling to start this ranch, and boarded her until bringing home 3 alpacas a few years later!
Some people even plan their business around permanently boarding alpacas, if they know they wont ever have the land or physical ability to raise alpacas full-time. That is where boarding is a wonderful option that makes alpaca ownership feasable.
What does it cost?
Boarding can cost anywhere from $75-$90 per month in general. That includes housing for your alpaca, excellent grass hay (we ship in, or purchase locally, the best Orchard grass hay we can obtain) as well as routine care, pelleted feed and minerals that alpacas need.
